One of the leaders in Video technology and the
inventor of the RamDac module ATI is still producing AGP video cards along
with PCI video cards. The Radeon class of video cards bring extra features to
your video display.
By using the Accelerated Graphics Port with a
special processor called an MDAC and special memory you get higher definition
video with more colors and a faster response when a program changes images.
Most OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) products have a
minimum of features or add ons. The ATI corporation has always been the leader
in pushing more features for their products. Two features that are very useful
are the screen alignment and the screen flip functions.
There are other ATI cards that have more ram but with
the Radeon 7000 GPU all the features are the same for all cards.
This card will give the average computer user all the
graphic power they need to display their applications. For the home user there
is a TV out feature. With the "flip" feature you can take a high resolution
monitor and have it display in either Portrait or Landscape mode. If your
monitor will 'flip' along it's axis you can display a very long document in the
landscape mode and not have to scroll as much as you would in Portrait mode.
ATI AGP Video Card specifications:
Mfr Part Number: 100941
Graphics controller: RADEON 7000 GPU
Memory: 64MB DDR
Bus Interface: AGP2X/4X
W/TV-out
Rating:
I am rating this video card a 8 out of 10. This is
a very high quality card that will display your graphics with out problems. It
will not however do well with games. Most games will require a minimum of 256
meg of DDR memory. For the business user that is not using a graphic intense
program this will be the best value. The TV out feature will have moderate
quality with the 64 meg of ram.

10/26/10 - ATI as
a company no longer exists, the AMD corporation has bought the ATI company and
now produces all the ATI products and retains the trade mark and copy right to
the ATI brand and logo. I haven't tested any of the newer ATI video cards but
others have, with rave reviews about the advances that AMD has made with
the new processor.
